BTEC Sport Level 3
Hi to all the SPORT students out there
Attached is a copy of a section of the exam paper on the skeletal system. Complete the test:
a) either from memory once you have viewed the attached document or videos, or,
b) as a learning exercise - so you can look for the answers by going back to the videos or the internet to research.
The last question is an "analyse" type. These are some of the more difficult Qs to respond to. This is a definition of what analyse means:
Learners examine in detail in order to discover the meaning or essential features of a theme, topic or situation, or break something down into its components or examining factors methodically and in detail. To identify separate
factors, say how they are related and explain how each one contributes to the topic.
Please complete for the first lesson with me and we will review the answers together.
Bridging Course
As there is a possibility that we cannot physically do a bridging course - please find a powerpoint that outlines:
1. Which units studied
2. How the units are assessed
3. How final grades are calculated
4. An example of a sport psychology lesson with questions to consider.
Additionally, there are some videos attached that outline some content of unit 1 (anatomy and physiology). It is specific to the first topic - the skeletal system. Unit 1 is double weighted and is assessed by examination in May of Yr 12. The videos are numbered sequentially, so that you can follow in a suitable order. If you would like to find more videos for other topics in the unit, you can search them on youtube. The other topics are:
- muscular system
- cardiovascular system
- respiratory system
- energy system
Hope this informs and engages you.
Bridging course for Unit 3
Mrs Lonergan has provided this powerpoint. The start looks the same as mine, however, the content and material towards the end of the presentation are related to a unit that she teaches.
